Coffee Importers and Distributors as a whole are generally not the groups that instantly come to mind as Green organizations. Coffee Harvesting and Processing equipment as well as production plants and transportation vehicles all consume a large amount of energy.

That doesn't mean that every little bit of saving doesn't help!  If just 10% of businesses nationwide made just basic efforts to conserve energy & cut down on waste, it would have a tremendous impact on our nation as a whole.

To that end, Lindsey Coffee Company is making changes in 2010 to become a more Green operation.

These changes include but are not limited to:

	Using only certified Energy Efficient CPUs and power supplies in all offices and warehouses  (process started in the spring of 2008) to minimize power consumption and heat generation
	Using high efficiency AC cooling systems to minimize impact on the environment
	Beginning a company-wide Recycling Program
	Installing Motion Sensitive Lighting in non-critical areas
	Requesting minimum shipping materials from frequently used vendors
	Exploring more efficient product packaging materials

These initial steps already make an impact.  It is our intention to continue these efforts to find cleaner, more energy efficient, and less wasteful methods of conducting business. We urge all companies and individuals to do the same.
